"Quoth the Raven: Nevermore"
The Raven by Edgar Alan Poe.
For those who don't know the difference between a Raven and a Crow: it's the size. Ravens are bigger. :-)

Choose Life
That was the big "message" on the mythical "Train Spotting": Choose Life.
But it's amazing the number of people that choose the opposite (now I sound like Lili Caneças): they choose Death.
"Death always has an excuse" we say in Portugal.
About 2 or 3 weeks ago, I don't quite remember, the 31 years old sister of Doña Letícia of Spain, killed herself. Of the sisters of the princess, she was the one with the "juicier" life for the pink press and was, of course, somewhat harrassed - divorced late last year, noticeably distraught with the divorce, took care by herself of her 5 years old daughter, had recently taken up a boyfriend and was clinically depressed. She was pretty, she had a job, she had a lovely daughter, she had a lover - and she must have had an enourmous pain inside.
I'm sure all she wanted was for the pain to stop. She would have done anything to stop the pain. But it didn't stop hurting. So she chose Death.
I'm sure she loved her daughter. I'm sure she never meant to leave her alone. But I'm sure she felt her daughter would be better off without her.
And that was what made the difference. She felt she had nothing to lose.
That was her biggest mistake.
As selfish as disposing of your own life is, as cowardly a solution it may seem, I hope she found the peace she was looking for. The end of pain.
However, our life is never just our own. With her she took a bit of everyone's life. It hurts so much to lose a love one, just put yourself in your love-ones shoes. We are responsible for those that love us.
Choose Life. Despite the pain.

Can you get some rest on a bank holiday?
I wish someone had explained to my brain the concept of a bridge and a bank holiday is NOT waking up at 8.30 am in a panic as if I had forgotten to set the alarm clock and was late for "life" :-P

Stephen Colbert at the White House Press Dinner ;-)
A brilliant mockery - and a dangerous one...
Second try! and a second part of the speach. As good as the first one ;)

Robbie Williams enters drugs rehab
Just a couple days ago, I was trashing Chris Martin and James Blunt. But today is not the case.
Robbie Williams went into rehab, to cure himself of dependancy of prescription drugs. He got clean on alcohol, they say, but anti-depressives became his new crutch.
"His career has been a huge success - winning several Brits, claiming the title of best-selling act of the 21st century so far and racking up an estimated £100 million fortune.
But that has done nothing to rid him of his depression, insecurity and self-loathing."
His lyrics so often portray people, and especially relationships with an apalling crudeness that, frankly, is what made me a fan. I'm not talking about "Angels" - as pretty as it is, it is not a "Robbie" song. Try "Sexed Up" for a "slow song". Or "Me and my monkey". It's a clear picture that all demons lie within.
I hope he can tame his demons. and keep expiating them on his lyrics. My demons like to come out to play with his songs. And while they are playing outside, they aren't tormenting me.
All the best, Robbie.

Doesn't it make you sick??
Ok, I'm pretty mad at the bloody IE that decided to crash just as I was finishing a very long and coherent post on yesterdays referendum, so I decided to post a "hate post"!
This has been nagging me for a while now - and though this may shock many a fan of the bands/performers I just wanted to post that:
I HATE TO LISTEN TO MALE SINGERS THAT SOUND LIKE THEY HAD THEIR NUTS CRUSHED!!
BLAH!!!!!!!!
Two dead on examples:
- James Blunt! Jezz, Man, shut the hell up with the "You're Beautiful" crap, you sound like an adolescent changing his voice!
- Coldplay's Chris Martin! Although Coldplay lyrics aren't as ludricrous as James Blunt's, where did the hormones go on both of these guys??!
Ok, you can say "how about Prince?" Well, Prince is singing like that ON PURPOSE (just remember the deep vocals on "Kiss"). While Chris and James just can't cut it. Goodness, when that "When you trying hard and you don't succeeeeeeeeeeeeeed" in that creepy voice of Chris Martin sounds on the radio, I always wonder who's squeezing the guy's balls!
A LOOOOONG time ago I bought Coldplay albums, the lyrics actually meant something to me. Now I'd be happy to sell them to whomever would relieve me of those painstaking sounds.
That and Ally McBeal. Will someone commit that woman?! Who is the jackass anyway who writes that series anyway? Enerving crowd! Emotional women aren't THAT STUPID! All that frustration about men?! DIY, Girl, and let us off your sick world of dancing babies! (how creepy is that?! :-P) She get's problem with older men, younger men, men her age - hey, wake up and smell the coffee! they are all MEN, equally simple and equaly complicated depending on how you chose to look at it. And in the end they will sing to you, as Chris Martin:
"I... didn't mean to cause you Trouble! I... never meant to do you wrong"
Oh shut the f*** up....
